The way he was jumping around and whooping one could clearly see that he was very keen for the show. Even though the Turbinenhalle was still to be filled up after the doors opened, punctually at two o’clock quite a lot of music fans suddenly gathered at the stage to see ES23.ĭaniel prepared the epic intro “Welcome to E-tropolis” to ring the bell for the festival. And this time, they were on it and owned it. Vocalist Daniel smiled from ear and to ear and expressed how honoured they felt to be part of it, since it was only last E-tropolis that he was still standing in front of the stage with the audience. With ES23, who had already earned big rounds of applause for opening the main stage at Amphi festival last summer, the E-trop party got started. There was enough time to lock in your belongings in one of those convenient lockers and take a stroll through the food hall – thanks for the yummy vegan hotdog! – all the different merch stalls, and the popular “Coffee & Cookies” bar, all distributed across the venue. Shortly after one o’clock, the gates very opened inviting the punctual folks in. The ninth round of the E-tropolis mania was not to be missed and so we put on our dancing shoes, comfy combat boots that is, grabbed our hearing protection and a camera, and hopped on the train to Oberhausen. As expected, this year’s E-trop edition was a sellout offering music lovers who enjoy romping around the darker and electronic side of the spectrum a splendid time that weekend.
The one-day indoor music event taking place at the Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen, Germany, kicked off this year’s festival season for 4000 members of the Goth tribe. Saturday, 16th March, 2019 – Electro-heads have marked that date in their calendars for E-tropolis was calling! And that means, a black celebration full of heavy bass and hard beats at full blast was on the programme.
